We’ve known for decades that chocolate and peanut butter is a winning combination. While Reece’s PB cups might not be the best choice for a fabulous figure, an easy homemade alternative tastes even better and supports your healthy lifestyle! I came across this amazing recipe online for dark chocolate peanut butter cups, but you can enjoy a similar sweet & salty dessert even more simply, and without any added sugar. Here’s how…

Ingredients:

2-3 pieces of dark chocolate (at least 70%, my pick: Green & Black’s 85%)

2-3 teaspoons natural peanut butter (salted, creamy or crunchy – Smucker’s is a good brand)

sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions: Break chocolate apart into separate pieces. Stir the peanut butter and top each piece of chocolate with about one teaspoon of peanut butter.  Finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Optional substitutions: Instead of peanut butter, consider pairing the chocolate with almond butter or cashew butter. You can even go wild and top each square with a different kind of nut butter!

Kids love them too! Enjoy these sweet and savory bites with an espresso mid-afternoon or after dinner. Perfection. Packed with healthy fats, protein, and antioxidants…  all the pleasure and none of the guilt!
